Good morning, dear reader, as Ann Landers used to address those reading her advice column. It was published in (and on) newspapers across the country – good old fashioned, hard copy, news print and ink that one could feel, smell, and hear as its crunching sound protested attempts to advance from page to page…
Anyone remember Dear Abby? That was all a while ago, and my last posting, too, was a while ago – Aug. of 2024.

That’s Ann (above), of course, as I don’t own a mink coat, and no longer have hair since my alopecia-buzz cut.
Turns out that there has been a lot going on since Aug. of 2024. I curated one exhibition and participated in at least 3 others that I need to add to my CV, while I have also been busy drawing illustrations for a friend’s book – including the cover. Haven’t done that before.
Below is a clip from one of the chapter illustrations. He wanted a 1800’s, pen & ink, Poe vibe. The book is wonderful and I will tell you all about it once it’s published.

But frankly, I’m finding that trying to blog about my art making this am is difficult because of how it pales in significance to the war making and other horrible suffering being experienced by so many. Makes it difficult, but not impossible, to see the magic all around me. So, as I fill up with gratitude for both what I have in this life and who is in it with me (family, friends, acquaintances, and those I don’t know and haven’t met), I will conclude today’s posting with Dr. Kings reminder from my last, and catch you up on my art doings soon.
“Our only hope today lies in our ability to recapture the revolutionary spirit and go out into a sometimes hostile world declaring eternal hostility to poverty, racism, and militarism. This call for a world-wide fellowship that lifts neighborly concern beyond one’s tribe, race, class and nation is in reality a call for an all-embracing and unconditional love for all human beings
When I speak of love, I am speaking of that force which all of the great religions have seen as the supreme unifying principle of life. Love is somehow the key that unlocks the door which leads to ultimate reality.”
“This call for a world-wide fellowship…” Yes.
“Love is somehow the key that unlocks the door which leads to ultimate reality.” Yes.
Because love is the best push back against the energy of hate, and creating is the best push back against the energy of destruction, I’m headed to my studio to work on pieces for my (our – the material, the muses, and me) “pinkStardust” installation that will open next Jan. 23rd at the Loveland Museum / Gallery.

Have a lovely day, dear reader. Catch up with you tomorrow.
